Final Captain's Log

And then there was one...Danielle just left for her flight home and it's oddly strange not being around her since we've been together for 2 weeks! We went to the Cathedral and toured some catacombs; then, we took a tour of the Inquisition Musuem IN SPANISH!!! Today in our crazy taxi ride in Lima, I asked her what her favorite part of the trip was - mostly to distract ourselves from the overwhelming wave of motion sickness coming forth - but also to get a different perspective. Her favorite part was Rio Scenarium where we samba danced our hearts out and let loose. I hope she remembers how that felt to really just let your hair down :) and now, for my recap (in no particular order). Drum roll please

BRAZIL: Obrigada, Rio Scenaium samba dancing, scars from mosquito bites and hitting my head on the bathroom stall, Gustavo and Rio de Janeiro craft beer, Christ the Redeemer, Deian/Nigel/Jessica, running home in the rain, dead cell phones.

IGUAZU: waterfalls, Leila and Fei, the jungle, "Christian Dior", truth or dare card games, swimming in the rain in my clothes

BUENOS AIRES: La Bocca neighborhood, shopping on Florida street, tango dancing shows, "act like you know what you're doing." Leila and Fei again

LIMA

CUSCO: never assume you know what you're doing ;)

AGUAS CALIENTES: Machu Picchu - yeah we did it!

CUSCO: altitude affects you more than you think

LIMA: crazy taxi drivers, people everywhere, legit ceviche, catacombs

Here's what I have learned:
Always carry motion sickness medicine when sitting in the back of taxis
Never refuse an offer to go swimming in the rain
Act like you know what you are doing
A smile goes a long way
Stay positive
ENJOY LIFE!

¡Adios amigos!
